Sir,

Sub : Revision of pension of pre-2006 pensioners — Delinking of revised Pension from qualifying service of 33 years vide DOP&PW 0M No. dated 06/04/2016 – Applicability to IDA pensioners of BSNL – regarding.

I am directed to forward herewith a copy of DOT letter No. 40-12/2016-Pen(T) dated 15/02/2017 On the above mentioned subject and to say that Para 4.2 Of DOT 0M NO. 40-17/2008-Pen(T)-V0l. III dated 15/03/ 2011 specifies that the revised pension in no case shall be lower than 50% of the minimum of the pay in the pay scale corresponding to the pre-revised pay scale from which the pensioner had retired. Accordingly, it may be ensured that pension revision of all pre-2006 IDA pensioners W.e.f. 01/01/2007 has been carried out and no pro-rata reduction has been applied even if they had qualifying service of less than 33 years at the time of retirement.
