More Women in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) – 33% of post in Constable level will be reserved for woman in CRPF and CISF. 14 to 15% posts will be earmarked BSF and ITBP
With a view to enhancing representation of women in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh has approved the 33% posts at Constable level for being filled up by women.
The Committee on Empowerment of Women in its Sixth Report (Recommendation No.84) of the (2010-11) had recommended urgent need to provide due representation to women in paramilitary forces.
Center’s decision to enhance the representation of women in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), to 33% of posts at the Constable level, came after a pressure was created by the Committee of Empowerment of Women, which had suggested in its sixth report that representation of women in paramilitary forces be increased.
There will be 33% reservation for women in Constable level posts in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) & Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Meanwhile, 14-15% posts at Constable level in border guarding forces i.e. Border Security Forces, Sashastra Seema Bal & Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) will be reserved for women.
